HZ's Contractor LLC can provide you with a complete new deck that is any height you need from low to the ground to a second story deck and a single level or multi-level deck or any combination. The limits are your imagination and budget. For a complete new deck the general steps are:

  1. Demo of existing Deck (if required) and then Excavation and Footings
  2. Framing which includes posts, beams and joists (this is Pressure Treated lumber on all decks)
  3. Decking (Pressure Treated, Composite or even Custom Hardwoods)
  4. Stairs and Hand Rails (if required)
  5. Custom Railings (if required) of Pressure Treated Wood, Composite, ABS, aluminum or glass
  6. Custom finishes such as post caps, lighting and stair lights (as desired)

We do some things that our competitors don't: we ensure that there are no leak paths between the Ledger (which holds the deck to the house) and the siding with both special rubberized material and custom aluminum. We use the right size and spec lumber, fasteners and hardware so in 2 or 20 years your deck will be strong and stable. Contact Us to make you new deck visions a reality.

In some areas the joist are covered in Aluminum to deter debris and rot.
The biggest issue is water behind the ledger. We put special EDPM behind the ledger.
Then custom aluminum under the siding and over the ledger. It takes  time but is what you do to build it right

The base framing of the first level

STANDARD DECK

This is the most common type of deck and the most common size is about 12x12 and are nice for family gatherings and other outdoor gatherings.
